Novation Investment provides gas-treatment, integrated-energy, power generation and operating capability.
Ehoo International Trading provides global generator sourcing, premium OEM channels and equipment logistics.
Future Energy provides data-Centre and BTC operations, an experienced continuous-load team and approximately 20 MW of existing deployable power demand.
Vertex coordinates these capabilities through one ownership and decision structure.
For an Alberta producer or infrastructure owner, the commercial point is straightforward: Vertex is not seeking a speculative gas option and does not need to sign gas first, raise project capital second, order generators third and search for a power user last. Approximately 20 MW of generation equipment, representing approximately CAD 20 million of invested capital, is held through a Vertex wholly owned equipment asset company. The current launch package is backed by existing shareholder capital and is not contingent on a new funding round.

Our approach is simple: make realistic commitments, document them properly, respect the agreed process and deliver what we say we will deliver.
A single executive lead coordinates technical diligence, equipment, capital and project decisions.
Shareholder-company teams can evaluate pressure, flow, controls, generation and load as one operating system.
Once site approvals and the physical gas connection are complete, Vertex can move into commissioning and operations without waiting for equipment procurement, external project funding or a separate initial offtaker.
The Vertex structure combines a controlling industrial-engineering shareholder with international equipment and digital-infrastructure shareholders.

VERTEX ASSETS LIMITED Wholly owned equipment and asset holding company | ZETTA ENERGY Wholly owned Alberta operating company | |
Vertex Energy Limited provides one accountable holding and decision platform. Vertex Assets Limited holds the group’s equipment and project assets, while Zetta Energy is the Alberta operating company responsible for local project execution and operations. The structure aligns ownership, capital, equipment and Alberta accountability in a form counterparties can diligence directly.
Novation Investment and its operating companies provide the technical foundation behind Vertex’s gas-to-power work.
The shareholder group’s experience includes city gate stations, underground pressure-regulation facilities, high-pressure pipeline systems, industrial valves and actuators, precision flow measurement, SCADA integration, remote ESD, combustible-gas monitoring, installation and full-system commissioning.
This is practical knowledge for Alberta development. A promising gas volume is not yet a power project: deliverability, composition, pressure, gathering, treatment, metering, winter conditions, control philosophy, emergency shutdown and maintenance access must be assessed together. Vertex’s team is organized to have those conversations early and directly.
The gas supplier can speak with a counterparty that understands the operating constraints of the molecule—not only the economics of the megawatt-hour.
Vertex’s approximately 20 MW generation-equipment portfolio is held through its wholly owned equipment asset company, Vertex Assets Limited. The portfolio represents approximately CAD 20 million of capital already invested—not equipment contemplated for a future order.
OEM | Units | Configuration | Nameplate capacity |
Caterpillar | 5 | 2.3 MW each | 11.5 MW |
Jenbacher | 2 | 1.0 MW each | 2.0 MW |
Caterpillar | 3 | 0.8 MW each | 2.4 MW |
Selected units shown | 10 | Available inventory | Approximately 15.9 MW |
Vertex portfolio | – | Generation equipment assets | Approximately 20 MW |
Vertex has deliberately selected top-tier, globally recognized generation platforms. Caterpillar and Jenbacher bring established operating histories, recognized service ecosystems, technical documentation and long-term parts support. This choice reflects Vertex’s seriousness about reliability, maintainability and long-duration operation; the project is not being built around low-cost, unfamiliar generator packages whose performance may be difficult for a gas counterparty to evaluate.
The selected equipment schedule identifies approximately 15.9 MW of the wider approximately 20 MW portfolio. Having equipment and capital available does not eliminate engineering or regulatory work, but it removes material procurement and funding uncertainties. Once gas, land and the project basis are secure, the engineering team can work from identifiable machines and real technical data rather than a conceptual future order.
COUNTERPARTY SIGNIFICANCE
The approximately CAD 20 million equipment commitment is tangible evidence that Vertex is serious about execution. The gas supplier is not being asked to finance the generation package or wait for a new OEM manufacturing cycle. Final deployment remains subject to condition verification, transport, site engineering, emissions and permits.
Future Energy’s shareholder-company experience includes a licensed 40 MW digital-infrastructure facility in Laos.
Lao Crypto Mining received a pilot cryptocurrency-mining licence in January 2022, began construction of a US$4 million, 40 MW load facility the following month and entered operation in October 2022. The facility reports approximately 11,300 Bitmain S19j Pro and L7 units, peak computing capacity of 1.5 EH/s and peak monthly production of 90 BTC.
The project reports more than US$40 million in cumulative foreign-exchange value generated for the national utility. For an Alberta gas counterparty, the most relevant point is operating maturity: the shareholder group has experience maintaining high-load-factor electrical demand, managing cooling and airflow, scheduling equipment maintenance, monitoring uptime and coordinating with a power supplier.
Future Energy also has approximately 20 MW of BTC and computing-load capacity available for the current launch program through existing equipment and contractual arrangements. This gives the generation project an immediate, controllable demand base capable of staged integration and operation.
DEMAND CREDIBILITY
Vertex does not need to learn continuous-load operations or find its first power customer after a gas contract is signed. The team, equipment and initial demand are already aligned; once the project is approved, connected and supplied, the gas molecule can begin generating cash flow for both parties.
Vertex’s credibility will be measured by its conduct in Alberta—not only by achievements elsewhere.
The company intends to work with qualified Alberta legal, engineering, environmental, permitting, construction and operating professionals. Site decisions will be developed around safety, emissions, noise, emergency response, land-use compatibility, community engagement, winter operability and responsible end-of-life planning.
Commercially, Vertex aims to be straightforward. We understand that a new holding company must earn trust through evidence, appropriate financial support, timely decisions and performance after signing. We are prepared for the diligence that a serious producer, midstream operator, landowner or regulator should require.
THE VERTEX PROPOSITION A counterparty with field awareness, premium equipment, gas-system engineering and real downstream operating experience—assembled under one accountable holding company. |
Vertex is ready to begin with practical Alberta projects and to grow only where the gas, site, regulatory pathway and economics are sound. The company’s ambition is to become a durable owner and operator whose name is associated with disciplined execution and fair dealing.
Basis of presentation
Corporate history, project metrics, authorization relationships and equipment information in this profile are based on records and information supplied by Vertex Energy and its shareholder companies. Specific documents can be made available for appropriate due diligence. Equipment deployment remains subject to site engineering, emissions, permitting, logistics and applicable Canadian requirements.
